VaccineOnWheels is a pioneer in doctor based mobile vaccination services. It is dedicated to ensure equitable access of vaccine to people from all strata of the society. The main target groups of VaccineOnWheels are old aged people, people with disability, tribal community, slum dwellers, street vendors, migrant labors, rural poor and other underprivileged people of the society. Till date VaccineOnWheels has administered Covid vaccine to more than two million people. With the support of our esteemed partners CryptoRelief, GiveIndia, USAID and Government of Meghalaya we are serving the unreached and underprivileged people of Meghalaya.

On 4th of April, 2022 our team operating in East Garo Hills district of Meghalaya organized a Covid vaccination camp at Williamnagar Prison for the inmates and the staff working there. Most of the inmates had already taken their first dose of vaccine and were waiting for the due date to get their second dose of Covid vaccine. Two inmates were administered the first dose of Covid vaccine. Total 14 doses of Covid vaccine were administered at Williamnagar prison. The number might be small but the impact created is big. If our team had not approached the prison authority, the two inmates might have remained unvaccinated as no one would be bothered to vaccinate them as they remain confined.

The staff members were grateful to the team for organizing the vaccination camp for them at their campus. We are very grateful to our partners who have been constantly supporting us to reach out to the unreached and underprivileged people of Meghalaya residing in interior and hard to reach areas.
