Vaccinating an Old Aged Woman at Her Doorsteps

placeholder

VaccineOnWheels is dedicated to vaccinate the underprivileged people like, old aged people, people with disabilities, migrant workers, street venders, urban and rural poor who are often at the high risk of getting infected with Covid. VaccineOnWheels operates mobile vaccination units that reach out to the unreached people and vaccinate them at their locality itself. When need arises our teams also vaccinate people at their doorsteps. This has increased the reach of Covid vaccine to the underprivileged and unreached society.

Our mobile vaccination unit operational in Selu block of Parbhani district in Maharashtra organized a Covid vaccination camp at Dhengli Pimpalgaon on 24th of January, 2022. After the vaccination camp our team started moving from door to door to vaccinate the left out people who were mostly the old aged and disabled people. While moving door to door our team came across a 70 years old woman named Rukhminibai Vithalrao Solanke. She was suffering from diabetes and was unable to walk because of the knee pain. Our team first checked all her vitals. When everything was recorded normal, she was administered Covid vaccine by our team members. She was also observed for 30 minutes after vaccination. Her family members were very grateful to the team for vaccinating her at their doorsteps.

Like this, our teams vaccinate many old aged and disabled people at their doorsteps who are unable to walk till the vaccination center. We are very grateful to our partners, Franklin Templeton, USAID, Rotary and Government of Maharashtra for supporting us to reach out to such people and vaccinate them at their doorsteps.
